The title says it all for today’s song. Powerful, yet sweet.

Cults – “Go Outside”

I know you all heard this song before from either the radio station or a recent commercial. I actually heard them a few years ago on WXPN – 88.5 FM Philadelphia, PA station and it took me the longest time to figure out who sang this song. Eventually, I heard another song of theirs on Pandora so of course I did some research on the band and found out that “Go Outside” came from them!
I love google sometimes..

Madeline Follin (vocals) and Brian Oblivion (vocals, guitar, percussion) are the brilliant humans that formed Cults in NYC. They started in 2010 and are still going strong with making sweet music. They are definitely an American Indie Pop band with a 1960s sound of love and loneliness. Another song that I do recommend from them is “I Know What You Mean”.

I call this song Powerful, yet Sweet because if you listen to the words, they’re talking about living life to its fullest without someone holding you down. It seems like she was in a dull relationship where she felt stuck and just wanted to make memories with the person. She felt restrained by his or hers inactive personality and you hear it in the song as well..
“I think we should break up, I think I want to live my life and you’re just in my way” Boom. self explanatory.

Great feel-good tune. Hope you all enjoy!
