Since last Wednesday, this song wondrously came into my life and I am happy to promote this band on All The Right Noise today.
I am representing the first Norwegian Indie Pop band on Alltherightnoise and I am just so thrilled to share this song because Highasakite, like all the other artists I share with you, makes blissful music. Highasakite consists of Ingrid Helene Håvik (on vocals and writes most of the lyrics and music), Trond Bersu (drums), Øystein Skar (synths), Marte Eberson (synths) and Kristoffer Lo (guitar, percussion and flugabone). So I’m guessing none of you know what a flugabone is.. me neither. So that is why I Googled it for you.
“Flugabone is the perfect instrument for euphonium/baritone players to cover trombone parts and is a nice handy instrument for marching band”
There you go. You and I just learned something new today. 🙂
Their lyrics were a bit strange for me to break down, but I read their press release which explains, cryptically, adding that “many of its themes exist in the realm of relationships behind closed doors”. I have a lot of respect for bands like this who write their own music. Songs about life experiences really hit the spot for me. So thank you, Highasakite for being noticed and making sweet music. Killer sound.
